I used black and white and the individual on the left to connect the struggles of the past to the present, I chose this piece in part because the guy on the left reminded me of a sanitation worker from the 40's and 50's, and in truth was probably old enough to remember the strike.

S-15 NYPD oppression Sept.2012 NYC, New York $390.00 During the first march in New York to celebrate Occupy Wall streets one year Anv. Police forced the un- permitted march to remain on the side walk. Also you could not cover your face in any sort of way. I was pointed out during this march for arrest, but would evade the police, until I was photographing a series of arrests in front of trinity church Wall Street. This is one of the video's with my arrest in it.
S17 You Have Lost Control Sept. 2012 NYC, New York $390.00 On the last day of the Occupy Wall Street Anv. in 2012 the side walks were controlled By NYPD, but it was the people who owned the parks, buildings and streets. Hundreds may have been violently arrested over the three days of the Anv. but you could not stop the voice of the young who seek to make the world a better place even in the face of overwhelming oppression and apathy.
Solidarity March 2013 $390.00 White House - Washington, DC On a frigid march morning tens of thousand gathered to surround the White House and tell Obama, and congress that they needed to take radical action on environmental issues and do it now. Harris and several other took the White House fence and held it for some time until the police forced them to get down.
